WILDFIRE EMERGENCY PROCLAMATION CHANGES HOUSING

The wildfires have forever changed Maui County.  The SIXTH wildfire emergency proclamation relating to the Maui Wildfires have suspended zoning, building, and much of the permitting red-tape on Maui; The State's participate in Coastal Zone Management has also been suspended for the duration of the proclamation.

Translation?  All bets are off.  Put what you want where you want.  But do so at your own risk.

Exclusions

Excluded in this cost is:  delivery to the owner’s site, site prep, any permitting costs, DOT charges, septic conversion costs and any cost not specifically included in the contract or any sales document.  We do offer a turnkey solution that is individually quoted.

Owners Are Responsible

All owners take responsibility for their own property and tiny home purchase, permitted or not.  The seller, or any supporting contractor, is not responsible for the use or mis-use of these tiny homes.

Owners on Cesspools Beware

Applying for a building permit for a tiny home may trigger a required upgrade from cesspool to septic.  Further, if you put a tiny home on your property without proper permits, the County may enforce zoning, which could trigger a cesspool upgrade to septic.  You must be prepared for this as it MAY OCCUR.

Infrastructure Tie-Ins

Tying into County infrastructure such as water, wastewater and potentially electrical may shift the usage of your property and may not be permitted.  This is based on your location and your individual usage of the tiny home.
